Attendance

Clearing Absences

Parents/guardians must notify the Attendance Office within 3 days of a student’s absence. You may clear the absences by doing one of the following: 

  1. https://covinahigh.c-vusd.org/absence
  2. By phone (626) 974-6100
  3. Written note.

Absences not cleared within 2 days wil be marked unexcused.

Truancies, unexcused absences, and tardies result in detention hours or saturday school.

Excessive absences may lead to Student Attendance Review Team/Board meetings.

Independent Study

If a student will be absent 2 or more consecutive days, parents must request an Independent Study contract from the Counseling Office, Student Services (626) 974-6053, or complete the request here:

During Independent Study Students earn credit, meet attendance requirements, and stay current with classwork. All assigned work must be completed to receive credit.
